In the Footsteps of Rajas and Sultans
Legacy Trails
Bangalore
“Bangalore’s history dates back to the 16th century when Kempegowda I, a chieftain under the Vijayanagara Empire, founded it as a mud fort in 1537 CE. Later, the Mughals captured it and sold it to the Mysore Wodeyars. Under Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, Bangalore thrived as a military and trade centre. After Tipu’s fall in 1799 CE, the British took control, making it a Cantonment city. The British influence modernized Bangalore with infrastructure, railways, and educational institutions. Today, the city reflects a blend of its rich heritage, from Dravidian rulers to colonial architecture, shaping it into India’s tech and innovation hub.”
